Unfortunately I didn’t get to know Ime and Sarah as well as I’d of liked to, but what I do know is that they are a really sweet couple, obviously very much in love. Their smiles were always shining, lighting up everyone in the room around them; that kind of storybook love that Hollywood loves to write about. Sarah and Ime did a beautiful job adding just the perfect amount of personalized decorations at NOVA, as you can tell from these lovely photos. We were honored to host their special day here in our beautiful Downtown St. Petersburg. Congratulations to Sarah and Ime, much love and the best to you both!!
Romantic, St. Petersburg Wedding
Sarah and Ime’s romantic St. Petersburg wedding featured an elegant color palette and soft uplighting to complement their picturesque ceremony and reception.
“[Our colors were] navy blue, silver and ivory. We chose the blue because it reminds me of my birthstone, a sapphire, and it went well with silver and ivory,” the bride explained.
The bride and groom searched for a unique St. Petersburg wedding venue with character and defined architecture.
“I feel like weddings in hotels can sometimes feel very cookie cutter, and we wanted a space that was older and had a lot of charm and that didn’t need a lot of additional decorating,” Sarah shared. “We loved the brick walls and beautiful wood floors at NOVA 535. We also liked that it had a very nice bar, and their service was amazing!”
To make sure their romantic St. Petersburg wedding was flawless, Sarah and Ime worked with our in-house wedding coordinator, Ruby.
“Ruby, the day of coordinator, was so awesome; she answered all my crazy questions and ensured that we had a wonderful night,” the bride gushed. “She thought of every tiny detail that had never crossed my mind. The whole staff at NOVA 535 was very accommodating and just a pleasure to work with.”
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We wanted a space that was older and had a lot of charm and didn’t need a lot of additional decorating, because we didn’t want to spend a lot on decorations and flowers.
We loved the brick walls and beautiful wood floors. NOVA 535 is such a beautiful space that it does not need a lot of embellishments! We also liked that it had a very nice bar, and their service was amazing! Ruby, the day of coordinator, was so awesome; she answered all my crazy questions and ensured that we had a wonderful night. She thought of every tiny detail that had never crossed my mind. The whole staff at NOVA 535 was very accommodating and just a pleasure to work with.
How would you describe your theme?
Soft and romantic. I wouldn’t say we had a true theme, but I wanted lots of candle light, warm romantic feel.
What were your colors?
Navy blue, silver, and ivory. We chose the blue because it reminds me of my birthstone, sapphire, and it went well with silver and ivory. They seemed like nice colors for the holidays, as we got married a couple weeks before Christmas.
